The Italian brand Ciesse Piumini was born in 1976 in Borgo Buggiano thanks to the intuition of Silvano Cinelli, whose initials sign the brand name. The brand's representative logo is the ligrone, a rare feline spotted for the first time in the French zoo park of Thoiry and born from the cross between a lion from Kenya, from which he inherits strength and authority, and a Bengal tiger, from which he gets elegance and insatiable curiosity. The ligrone perfectly embodies the soul of Ciesse Piumini, inextricably linked to nature, authenticity and freedom. The strengths of the brand were the use of goose down in the creation of highly technical garments for skiing and mountaineering, the choice of uncompromising quality of the products, the use of materials that were then cutting-edge, such as fabric with high capacity waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex, but above all the ability to interpret the needs of its audience. The quality and reliability represented by the brand allow Ciesse Piumini to be chosen as the official sponsor of several expeditions, the first Italian one in Antarctica organized by today's ENEA, or the first one on the Himalayas. The versatility of the brand also allows it to equip Rally riders, motorcycles and racing cars, and therefore fit into extreme sports that are completely different from the world of alpine climbing or Antarctic expeditions. The most important was the historic Rally Paris-Dakar Rally in 1986 which was also attended by Princess Caroline of Monaco and her husband Stefano Casiraghi, wearing Ciesse Piumini products. With the feather, Silvano Cinelli, however, also realizes warm, soft and comfortable city jackets, maintaining the cut and the typical Italian style and demonstrating the ability to know how to interpret and also respond to the urban needs of an audience that links this brand to mountaineering expeditions and more extreme Antarctic. The experience gained from the collections focused on natural down filling for products destined for the world of extreme expeditions, is applied and developed over the years in the field of urban fashion, to the point that the brand becomes a true icon of the teenagers of the years 80 and 90. It is precisely these years of economic boom, turmoil, and socio-cultural transformation that see Ciesse Piumini become the fashion product of excellence, desired by entire generations overwhelmed by the social phenomenon of "paninari", so much so that it is used in one of the successful films such as " Christmas Holidays ", a cult movie of this period.
